Dyma arddangosfa o waith newydd gan yr artist Gareth Griffith, sy’n gweithio yng Ngogledd Cymru. Mae’r Adeiladwaith a’r paentiadau yn ystyried y cysylltiadau rhwng lle ac amser ac yn cwestiynu materion cymdeithasol. Mae’r llefydd yn cynnwys Lerpwl, lle astudiodd yn y 1960au, Jamaica, lle bu’n byw efo’i deulu ifanc yn y saithdegau cynnar, a Mynydd Llandegai uwchben Dyffryn Ogwen lle y mae wedi byw a gweithio ers dros 40 mlynedd. Yn ei bedwar ugeinfed flwyddyn bellach, mae’r artist dylanwadol hwn yn cyflwyno gwaith sy’n defnyddio profiadau o’i einioes ac yn myfyrio ar y prosesau cynhyrchu a ddefnyddiwyd gan weithwyr ffatri yn y cymoedd a sut mae’r artist yn defnyddio’r un deunyddiau a phrosesau mewn ffyrdd gwahanol.

Trailer is an exhibition of new work by artist Gareth Griffith, based in North Wales.Trailer is commissioned by Oriel Davies.

The Constructions and paintings explore the connections between place and time and questions social issues. The places include Liverpool, where he studied in the 1960s; Jamaica, where he lived with his young family in the early 1970s; and Mynydd Llandegai above the Ogwen Valley where he has lived and worked for more than 40 years. In his eightieth year this influential artist presents work that references experiences from across his lifetime and reflects on the manufacturing processes used by factory workers in the valley and how the artist uses the same materials and processes in different ways.
