Soft Sculpture art works by Laura Cameron. Unique crocheted and needle felted Anatomy/Medical inspired pieces, 'Woolidermy' faux-taxidermy animal heads and playful fake foods made by hand in North Wales.

Lost in the Wood was founded in 2013 when I discovered Soft Sculpture (crochet and needle felting) was what I loved and wanted to spend a lot of time enjoying. Originally from Edinburgh, I've now settled in North West Wales.

My inspirations come from taxidermy, dark fairy tales (hence the 'Lost In The Wood' name), anatomy, medical history, historical crime and fake foods (which can be spotted everywhere from laden National Trust tables to delicate art sculptures). I enjoy subverting the expectations that usually accompany woolly crafts. My work aims to blur the line between traditional art & craft, I think it's important to challenge this artificial distinction ,hopefully in a playful manner.
