My starting point is taken from ordinary and everyday elements. I attempt to challenge our concepts of what we understand by reality. I exploit contrasting situations of menace and humour, of comfort and unease or order and chaos. For me painting is also about putting my self in an unknown terrain and finding a visual route back to a more familiar place.
